Unable to log in to Dell Open Manage Server Administrator (OMSA)
The Dell Open Manage Server Administrator, or OMSA for short, can be found on every GV supplied Dell server. You can access it via a browser or from the start menu.
When using the start menu link, you are directed to URL:
Ignore the certificate warning, as Dell uses a self signed certificate. You are now presented with a logon screen.
You should use a (local) administrator account to logon. (If you don't know the account details, you can try the default, username root, password calvin.)
But this does not work, as you keep getting back to the same logon page and not get a Login Failed message.
The solution is to replace [servername] in the URL with either localhost or the IP address of the server. For example:
https://hills-guardian_sandbox:1311/ -> logon doesn't work.
https://localhost:1311/ -> logon does work!
https://10.10.10.1:1311/ -> logon does work!
